Motion by Nick D. to approve minutes. 2nd by Chuck H
The minutes were approved.
Membership: Reported by Membership Chairman Robert S. Current membership stands at 99
Finance Committee Report by the Finance Officer, Nick D..
All financial notes are in a separate report.
Motion to approve the Finance Officers report and bills was made by
Chuck H. 2nd by Flip M. Approved.
Old Business:
The CMDR will check on the progress of getting a new blacktop at the
Veterans Park and report at the next meeting. The CMDR has gotten
donations to help cover the cost of repaving the blacktop. A final total will
be announced later in the Legion’s Fiscal year.
The Scout Troop (11), that our American Legion sponsors, will have 3
Scouts earning the Eagle Scout Ranking this year. Nick D. brought in his
choice for trophies to give the young men for their accomplishment. Each
will receive a trophy with a plate marking the occasion.
A motion by Rollie W. was made to purchase these trophies and hand them
out at the next Scout meeting. 2nd by Chuck H. Approved.
Christmas Basket donations will be to three (3) churches this year. The
buying will occur at The Sartell Coborn’s store on 21 Dec, 2009 at 9:00
AM. Volunteers are welcome.
Flags where retired on 12 Dec, 2009 starting at 9:00 AM. The Boy Scouts
helped out a lot. So much so that the Legion is going to give each Scout,
that showed up, $5.
New Business:
The Sartell American Legion will present to the City of Sartell, a Flag and
Certificate to have displayed in City Hall. This will occur on January 11,
2010 at 7:00 PM. A good Legionnaire turnout would be great.
