Guest: Boy Scout Troop 11 Leaders; John Burnett and Steve Fabel presented the Charter
for this year to the CMDR. He needs to sign this form and give the Boy Scouts our annual
financial backing. The CMDR will do so as soon as the Finance Officer returns to write out the
check. There are 27 members in the Troop. One made Eagle Scout last year and another is in the
position to make it (Eagle Scout) this year.
Membership: Reported by the CMDR, Stands at 98, Our goal is 130.
Old Business:
Flags are to be lowered on Dec 13 at 9:00 AM. Please meet at the NEW storage
area (door #234). The Boy Scouts will be there to help out.
Flip M. checked with Coborns on selling brats for a moneymaker for the Legion. Coborns starts
the schedule in January, Snuffy will contact them to set up a time (or two?) for the Legion to work.
The biggest concern was getting helpers to work. This is a Friday/Saturday event.
New Business:
The location of the next Sartell Legion’s membership dinner was brought up. The membership
would like to try another location next year. Along with this change the timing could also be
moved to allow for more participation. Earlier in October and possibly at the Eagles Club
were discussed. More input is welcome. We have time to discuss this topic before making
a choice.
The Legion’s annual Christmas basket donation was discussed. Since only St. Francis Xavier Church wanted any donations of food last year. Flip will check with them to see if they could use more than just one basket. Flip will report at the next (December’s) Legion meeting. The donation will have to be done quickly after that, as Christmas will only be 1 week later.
The moving of the Legion’s property, from the old storage area to the new one, went on
without a hitch, thanks to all who helped out. John D. submitted a bill for the destruction of old papers found in the storage area. The bill was approved.
Closing Prayer was read by the Chaplin Rollie W.
Attendees: Paul Schafer, Chuck Haselkamp, Richard Clement, Ayers Putnam, Rollie Wies,
John Burnett, Flip Mastey and John Denney.
Meeting Adjourned at 8:00 PM
