Meeting called to order by Cmdr Paul at 7:00 PM at Liquid Assets in Sartell.

Opening Prayer was read by the Chaplin Rolly W.

Last months (September’s) minutes read by Adjutant John D.

    Motion by Nick D. to approve minutes. 2nd by Dick C. The minutes were approved.

    Guests: Mike Hording from the Sartell Youth Hockey Group. Stopped by to say Thank You to the Sartell American Legion for the Donation to their Hockey group. He explained where the monies go; dues, equipment and some meals for kids who can’t afford to pay. (It costs, roughly $600+ per student). This team event helps young people as young as 4 all the way up to High School. The Sartell Youth Hockey Group, also does fund raisers on their own to help with the costs. This years donation, helped to buy T-shirts for the kids with the Sartell Legion Logo on it. It, the donation, also helps with the 1275 hours of Ice time the team needs.

Finance Committee Report by the Finance Officer, Nick D.

    All financial notes are in a separate report.
    Motion to approve the Finance Officers report and bills was made by Snuffy. 2nd by Chuck H. Approved.

Membership: Given by the Membership Chairman Robert S. Membership stands at 86. Goal is still 125.

Old Business:

    CMDR Paul will talk to the City of Sartell about how much the Sartell American Legion will donate to replace the old blacktop with new and have it marked.
New Business:
    Membership Dinner, 53 people have signed up for the dinner. Which is being held at the Sauk Rapids VFW on Sunday, Oct 18, 2009 starting at 3:00 PM.

Jason Hold from Midcountry Bank sent the Legion a thank you note for investing some of our monies with them. After much discussion, it was motioned, by Robert S., to have the CMDR, Finance Officer and 2nd Vice, look into and re-investing the next CD that comes due. 2nd by Nick D. Approved.

The St. Cloud VA has requested donations to help cover costs of the up coming Holidays. It was decided any funds left over from our annual Christmas Basket Donation would be given to the VA.

The Membership Chairman, Robert S. handed out copies of the Sartell Legion’s Constitution, By-Laws and amendment proposals. Since our Constitution hasn’t been updated since 1969, he felt it was now time. He also handed out a letter asking what the Sartell American Legion should do as to the future of the Legion.

This will be brought up at the Legions Membership Dinner and if necessary, mailed to all current members.

Sick Call: Henry Doeden just got out of the hospital. Dick Clement’s son. Dan, is seriously ill. Our Hopes and Wishes go out to all the sick and weary.

TAPS: Legion Member Donald Gilman passed away in October.
