Meeting called to order by Cmdr Paul at 7:00 PM at Paula's Cafe in Sartell.
Opening Prayer was read by Chuck H.
Last months (August's) minutes read by 1st Vice-CMDR Snuffy
Motion by Nick D. 2nd by Chuck H. The minutes were approved.
Finance Committee Report by Finance Officer Nick D.
All financial notes are in a separate report.
Motion to approve the Finance Officers report was made by Chuck H. and 2nd by Snuffy. Approved
Old Business:
Snuffy bought a new POW/MIA flag for the East end of the Sartell Bridge.
The CMDR brought up the meeting place for the Legion will be at Perkins
near Hennen’s Furniture, starting in November. (Paula’s Café’ will be closing
shortly).
Sartell American Legions’ Membership Dinner will be on Oct 12th at the
Sauk Rapids VFW.
The CMDR, Finance Officer and 1st Vice-CMDR met with JK Companies and
the Legion will be renting Unit #234 for $50 per month starting in November.
The CMDR will talk to the owner of the present storage facility and inform him
of the change.
New Business:
Flip M. will check with Coborn’s on dates available for the Legion to sell Brats as a moneymaker for
the Legion. And will report on such at the next meeting. Snuffy brought up another idea to go along
with the brats. He suggested selling Patriotic caps. We could purchase them from a local merchandiser
and sell them for a small profit.
Motion to Lease the new storage unit starting on Nov 1 and vacate the current on by Nov 30th, 2008. Motion by Nick D, 2nd by Chuck H. Approved.
Thanks to Nick D and Snuffy for taking the minutes of this meeting while the Adjutant was away.
