Meeting called to order by Cmdr Paul at 7:00 PM at Paula's Cafe in Sartell.

Opening Prayer was read by the Finance Officer, Nick D.

Last months (June's) minutes read by Adj. John D.

    Motion by Nick D. 2nd by Flip M. The minutes were approved.

Membership: Stands at 28, reported by Robert S. Our goal is 135 members.

Finance Committee Report by Finance Officer Nick D.

    All financial notes are in a separate report.
    Motion to approve the Finance Officers report was made by CMDR and 2nd by Robert S. Approved

Old Business:

    The CMDR received many compliments on the Sartell American Legions’ participation in the Memorial Day Ceremony, the Sartell Summerfest Parade and Legion’s Flag event at the Country Manor Nursing Home. The CMDR sent a Thank You note to Ms. Coburn for her donations to the Legion.

      The Finance Officer, Nick D. presented the results of the 2007-2008 Budget. He also handed out the budget for 2008-2009. A discussion on what to do with the CDs coming due, came next. The CMDR and Finance Officer will insure no one bank will have more that $100,000 invested. This way all funds will be protected from any possible bank failures. A motion was made by Henry D. and 2nd by Flip M. to authorize the CMDR and Finance Officer to do so. The motion was approved.

      New Business:

        Flip M. commented that the parking area at the Veterans Park should be resurfaced, the CMDR will talk to the Mayor about this. Flip M. also met with member Erv H. about selling the Legion’s cooking pans to the St. Augusta Legion. He will report on this at the next meeting.

          Before joining the Sartell Chamber of Commerce, the CMDR will check on the benefits of joining. Storage cost were brought up to the memebership by the CMDR and ADJ. They checked on the cost of moving the Legion’s storeage needs to a commercial site. The CMDR will check with the current owner to see if he will match the commercial site cost. We will stay where we are if he matches the savings of the commercial site. Otherwise the Legion will give 60-day notice and move to the commercial site a that time. Motion by Nick D., 2nd by Robert S. Approved.
          The CMDR will check with the Sauk Rapids VFW to see if an October Membership Dinner is possible. The CMDR will report back at the next meeting.
