Meeting called to order by Cmdr Paul at 7:12 PM at Liquid Assets in Sartell.
Opening Prayer was read by the First Vice Ayers “Snuffy” Putnam.
Last months (June’s) minutes read by Second Vice Chuck Haselkamp.
Motion by Nick D. to approve minutes. 2nd by Snuffy.
The minutes were approved.
Finance Committee Report by Finance Officer Nick D.
All financial notes are in a separate report.
Motion to approve the Finance Officers report was made by Ayers P.
2nd by Henry Doden. Approved.
Membership: Report given by Membership chairman Robert S.
Membership stands at 115.
Goal is still 125.
Old Business:
CMDR Paul spoke with Mayor Tim O. about looking for bids to
repair or resurface the Veterans’ Park parking lot. Bob S. will also
look for bids on this project. Some discussion about weather to Seal
Coat vs Repaving the lot was brought up. More information at the next
Legion meeting.
Last years budget/expenses (2008-2009) read by Nick D. Budget for the
new year (2009-2010) was presented by Nick D. At this time our income
is projected to be lower than last year, but we will still cover the projected
expenses.
New Business:
The American Legion received a Thank You note from Dan Whitson for
the D.A.R.E donation.
Virginia Lewandowskis’ son is in Iraq. She is looking for financial help to
send five boxes of basic school supplies to her son for distribution to local
school children. The cost is $59.75 this would cover the postage. Motion
made by Bob S. to provide the postage of $59.75, 2nd by Snuffy.
Motion approved.
