Old Business
The requirement of the 1st Vice Cmdr to sign checks was clarified.
Only in the absence of the CMDR or the Finance Officer is the 1st Vice
Cmdr authorized to sign checks.
The New Commander (Paul S.) was installed by the Chaplin (Rolly W.)
Color Guard for the Sartell Summerfest Parade were Henry D., Richard G. and John D. The parade was a cool one, but dry. Pictures of the Color Guard are posted on the Legions website.
Memorial Day Services were a success, thanks to Ann Doyscher-Domres
of Wells Fargo, Tim O'Driscoll from the City Council and all the Legion
members. Pictures of the ceremony are posted on the Legion's website.
A motion was made to move the location of where the Legion holds its
meetings. The next meeting, July 20, 2006, will be at the
Sartell Bowling Alley.
Ralph J. will bring in vests to see what sizes should be ordered for Legion
members to wear while on Legion business, such as Color Guard.
New Business:
CMDR Nick suggested the Legion spend some funds on advertising.
Placing a front-page ad, in the local paper, was talked about.
Ralph J. will check with the Legion's Insurance company to see what
is covered and what the deductible is. This is for general knowledge
of the Legion members.
2006-2007 Legion budget will be available for inspection at the next
meeting.
Paul S. (Next CMDR) got approval to mail out a letter to each member
to introduce himself and his ideas for the coming year. The Legion will
cover the cost of the mailings.
Ralph J. brought up that the Legion only has 3 Bible's left, and wants to
order more. This will be brought up at the next meeting. Bible's are given
to the family of a deceased Sartell Legion member.
The Sartell Police Dept sent the Legion a thank you note for sponsoring
the D.A.R.E. program. The Legion has supplied funds for two new
bicycles, each year, for the past 15 years.
CMDR Nick, has volunteered to head up a local grouping of Service
Organizations. He would like to get all groups (Lions, Legion and others)
to work together to make Sartell a better place to live.
