Meeting called to order by Cmdr Paul at 7:05 PM at Paula's Cafe in Sartell.

Opening Prayer was read by the 1st Vice Snuffy

Last months (April's) minutes read by Adj. John D.

    Correction to minutes both Boy and Girl Scouts will work at the Memorial Day ceremony
    Motion by Nick D. 2nd by Chuck H. The minutes were approved.

Guests: Mayor Tim O'Driscoll gave an update on the Memorial Day celebration. The Mayor mentioned that the Waite Park Legion Color Guard will be present at the celebration. He, Tim, suggested an Honorarium be given to the Color Guard. He also suggested that Legion members be at the Monument early, so a walk-thru can be performed. The City will have the City Flag and the Minnesota State Flag for the flag bearers at the ceremony. The American Legion will supply the US, Legion and POW flags. The CMDR will check with the Legion.s Chaplin, Rollie, to see if he would read the opening Prayer. Ann Doyshcer-Domres's son, Sam, will be in uniform and help post the Wreath at the Memorial.

A suggestion to put up a "donation jar" was defeated and will not be allowed.

Dick Clement has 5 flags for the Country Manor Nursing Home. The Legion will donate these flags at a later date.

The Color Guard, from the Sartell American Legion, should be ready to line up for the Sartell Summerfest Parade by 8:30 AM on June 14th.

Membership: Stands at 123, reported by Robert S. Our goal is 141 members.

Finance Committee Report by Finance Officer Nick D.

    All financial notes are in a separate report.
    Motion to approve the Finance Officers report was made by Chuck H. 2nd by Henry D. Approved

Old Business:

    The American Legion posted flags in Sartell on May 3rd. Thanks for all those who helped out.

New Business:

    A discussion about if the Sartell American Legion should join the Sartell Chamber of Commerce. This was tabled to a future meeting.
    The question came up during the meeting, does the Sartell American Legion pay for Color Guards at Legion Funerals? The Finance Officer, Nick D. could not find any checks paid out. This brought up the motion to have the Sartell American Legion make $100 payments to each Funeral Color Guard. Motioned by Erv H. 2nd by Nick D, approved.
    Nomination and election of Officers for the Sartell American Legion occurred. The Officers are:

      Commander: Paul S.
      1st Vice CMDR: Snuffy
      2nd Vice CMDR: Robert S.
      Finance Officer: Nick D.
      Membership : Robert S.
      Sgt at Arms : Chuck H.
      Adjutant : John D.

      The CMDR will check with Rollie W. to be Chaplin.
      Erv H. motioned for a "WHITE BALLET" for all Officers, passed.
    Flags for the local cemeteries will be raised by Snuffy and Chuck H.
