He asked if our two Legions could work together for various activities. One such activity is in burial functions. If a rifle squad is needed, the St. Augusta Post has one, and if they need members they can come from either Legion. Plus the Sartell Legion has been invited to march in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Marty, MN(Pearl Lake). It is on March 14 at 12:30 PM. Contact Rick Taufen at (320) 252-0276.

Finance Committee Report by the Finance Officer, Nick D.

Motion to approve the Finance Officers report was made by Snuffy and 2nd by Robert S. Approved

Membership: Reported by the Membership Chairman, Robert S. Stands at 112, Our goal is 130.

    Old Business:

The Hockey donation of $500 for uniforms is tabled until an official request letter is received by the Legion. With no response from the Hockey team, this request is now tabled. The Sartell Chamber of Commerce booklet came out, the Sartell American Legion was not present. (Since we did not pay the $150 for a 1” add).

      New Business:

Request from the Deer Hunter group at Ft. Ripley, wanting funds to allow Disabled Vets to hunt. Our Legion will donate $100 to this function and this donation will be added to our Budget process in the new year.
On February 9, 2009 the Sartell American Legion presented Councilman David Petersen a US flag to take with him to IRAQ. Since he was not a member, the Legion offered the first years membership due to his service to our country.
This brought up the question on how to notify all the other service men and woman, in our area, about this offer? (That the Sartell Legion will buy the first years membership in our club, if the person will join and is eligible). No solution was found.

Closing Prayer was read by the 1st Vice, Snuffy

Attendees: Paul Schafer, Ayers Putnam, Nick Dockendorf, Robert Schwalboski, and John Denney.
